For maintaining a healthy and clean atmosphere in your home or work space, a good quality air purifier is an essential addition to the electrical appliance collection.
Choosing the right model for your needs is an important first step in the move to a cleaner, healthier space. In this section of the website, I take some of the top models that in my opinion are perfect for most living and working situations.
Which Air Purifier?
There are quite a large number of models to choose from these days. With that said, I won't try to make it sound like you will have too much of a hard time finding the right one for you!
The aim of this site is to at least make things a little easier for you when it comes to making a short-list of the better buys and allowing you to choose from the ones I've looked at and reviewed in these pages.
There are some excellent models from some of the bigger and better known brand names as well as some really good models from manufacturers you might not be so familiar with, at least not before you read this. The takeaway is that a really good quality air cleaner can come from the stable of a big brand or a small one and still be as good as the other.
Equally, you can end up buying what looks like a great shiny new toy only to be disappointed when it arrives and doesn't work as well as it says in the glossy advertising literature. My aim is to steer you away from the bad ones and toward the good ones!
Why Do You Need an Air Purifier?
Unless you didn't know, the air you're breathing in your home is not as clean and healthy as you think it might be!
That's right, your air is polluted with all kinds of airborne toxins that you're breathing in right now and it may not be as good for your health as you thought! Perhaps you can see some of the tiny particles of dust floating around, especially after you shake out a blanket or rug.
Most airborne toxins are so tiny we can't see them at all. But they're there!
- The tiniest floating pollen to mold spores that can cause respiratory irritation and even disease
- The chemical pollution that comes from agriculture (pesticides), motor vehicle exhausts (carbon monoxide, benzene etc)
- Fumes from cleaning products
- Micro-dust from carpets, rugs and furnishings
- Residue from the very building materials that your home is built from
So you see, there are potentially millions of microscopic individual particulates floating around in every cubic inch of indoor air!
I think you can very clearly see there is a definite need to filter out as many of these floating pollutants as possible for the sake of your health and that of your family.
In the associated articles in this category, I provide more information on how filtering the air can help improve the quality of the air you breathe indoors. I also take several top quality air purifier models and review them to help you choose the best model for your needs.
